A new electric automotive entrant into the Sydney market has secured a showroom and warehouse off-market in a highly desirable area of the city’s south.
The 1,204sqm premium showroom and warehouse at 1037-1047 Bourke Street in Waterloo, was leased to Zeekr Auto by Colliers Director Jackson Wray.
“There has been a significant surge in demand for electric vehicle showrooms across South Sydney, with prominent brands such as BYD, XPENG, and Zeekr having established a presence within the past year,” Mr Wray said.
“Additionally, several other leading global automotive brands are actively seeking prime retail spaces to enter this rapidly growing market.”
Southern Sydney’s key location close to some of Australia’s most important international gateways in the Sydney Airport and Port Botany make it ideal for the automotive industry, with Zeekr joining Polestar, Tesla, Mercedes-Benz and Ford within the precinct.
“South Sydney has witnessed a robust and sustained demand from automotive groups, a trend that has been further fuelled by recent updates to the Local Environmental Plan (LEP),” Mr Wray “said.
“These changes have paved the way for the establishment of showrooms in newly designated precincts, further enhancing the region's appeal as a prime location for automotive retail.”
