Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is delivering a rolling inventory of developments to create new opportunities for tenants to make the move to the airport.
BAC Executive General Manager of Commercial, Martin Ryan, said the proactive development demonstrated Brisbane Airport’s desirability as the region’s premier industrial offering.
“Brisbane Airport continues to experience strong demand for its highly connected industrial sites, in part because of their unparalleled transport links and 24/7 operational capacity,” he said.
“We are excited that more businesses will be able to take advantage of our premium high-amenity sites. This is why Brisbane Airport is continuing to invest in proactive developments like at Airport Industrial Park.’’
The new Boronia Road development in stage one of Airport Industrial Park’s 100-hectare zone is a 17,000 sqm site with approximately 8,600 sqm of lettable area.
The development will include a 7,800 sqm warehouse and 750 sqm two-level office building, which will be complemented with 73 car parking bays. The 12-month build will involve over 700 workers and is due to be completed mid-2024.
The Airport’s 24/7 capacity means the warehouse is primed for round-the-clock operations, enabling continuous service or production. Key amenities are located only minutes away in the Skygate mixed-use retail, commercial and leisure precinct.
The architecturally designed facilities will seek to achieve a 5 Star Green Star rating with the inclusion of sustainable development practices such as solar, rainwater harvesting, electric vehicle charging units and the use of low carbon products and materials.
Mr. Ryan said Brisbane Airport was pleased to be in a position to continue to proactively develop first-class facilities amid low industrial vacancy rates.
“Freight demand in Australia is growing significantly with government estimates predicting a 60 per cent jump to service urban areas by 2040,’’ he said.
