Sugar Research Australia (SRA) will expand their research capabilities after securing a five-year lease term at an office and warehouse space negotiated by CBRE’s Jack Hardy and Sam Parker.
Sugar Research Australia (SRA) will expand their research capabilities after securing a five-year lease term at an office and warehouse space in Brisbane's southern suburb of Acacia Ridge.
The lease deal was negotiated by CBRE’s Jack Hardy and Sam Parker.
Mr. Hardy said SRA will complete an extensive upgrade to the facility at 17 Iris Place which will house a large component of their Brisbane-based research activities and testing facilities.
“This is a unique building within the central south industrial precinct. The property benefits from a large power supply and the warehouse is built to a Therapeutic Goods Administration standard (TGA), which were both drawcards for SRA,” Mr. Hardy said.
“There is a limited supply of existing buildings in the market, especially buildings with an existing laboratory fit out across the South East Queensland market, therefore SRA moved quickly to secure the property when it became available for lease,” Mr Parker added.
The freestanding office and warehouse facility is set on 3,068 sqm of land and is close to Learoyd and Beaudesert Road - two of the main throughfares connecting the southern industrial market to South East Queensland’s major transport nodes.
SRA’s General Manager Industry Services, Hywel Cook, said the new facilities represented a contemporary enhancement to current facilities.
“The additional space and infrastructure opens up opportunities for ensuring that our important research, continues to be world-class with impact both nationally and globally,” Mr Cook said.
SRA is Australia’s specialist sugarcane research organisation and is the industry services body for the Australian sugarcane industry. SRA has facilities at ten locations along the east coast from Meringa, near Cairns in North Queensland, to Broadwater in northern New South Wales.
