CouriersPlease, is growing its support for retailers, E-Commerce traders and online shoppers in Perth by launching a larger, state-of-the-art facility in Perth’s High Wycombe.
Australia’s fastest growing franchised courier service, CouriersPlease, is growing its support for retailers, E-Commerce traders and online shoppers in Perth by launching a larger, state-of-the-art facility in Perth’s High Wycombe. The new facility allows CouriersPlease to expand into 60 territories and support the State’s vital economy.
The new facility – which will replace the company’s Perth airport depot – is 50 per cent larger than the Perth depot and anticipated to create at least 10 new jobs and 30 new Franchise Partner opportunities across Western Australia to help boost the State’s nation-leading economic growth.
The High Wycombe facility occupies a central location in the City of Kalamunda, and it will enable CouriersPlease to extend is operations from 52 territories to 60.
The launch is not only part of the company’s strategy to meet and contribute to the rising demand of Western Australia’s strong E-Commerce sector, but to bolster the City of Kalamunda’s local economy. Kalamunda has a Gross Regional Product estimated at $3.4 billion, with the transport postal and warehousing sector taking the top spot as the region’s largest industry.
The new CouriersPlease facility will become a major pillar in that fast-growing local economy while being perfectly poised to service businesses and online shoppers in the City of Perth, which experienced a 7.21 per cent GRP hike in the year leading up to June 2023. CouriersPlease is already the trusted courier partner for many of Australia’s leading retail brands.
The facility has further been carefully designed to keep pace with the State’s strong projected growth and support Western Australian businesses, particularly after reports the State economic scorecard outperformed many of Australia’s eastern states. Figures (released last year) show the State economy swelled by 3.5 per cent between 2022 and 2023, which is the strongest rate of growth collected in nine years. The State’s domestic economy is expected to accelerate further by 5.25 per cent this year, underpinned by a 13.25 per cent business investment this year.
CouriersPlease, CEO, Richard Thame said the facility will more than just enhance logistics services for businesses and consumers throughout the region but allow CouriersPlease to better support the people of Perth and its retailers.
Richard says, “The larger footprint of this innovative facility allows us to ramp up our processing speeds and essentially do what do now, but better, to help WA businesses flourish further.
“This space also enables us to process parcels more efficiently and, thanks to that added volume, we can quickly expand and provide density for our new Franchise Partners.”
“We’re creating more jobs across the State, including a variety of positions in our sortation area and a wealth of company contractor opportunities.”
As CouriersPlease continues to expand logistics operations in Western Australia, WA State Manger, Jamie Burgess says, “This facility significantly enhances our operational capacity and is designed to streamline our processes, allowing us to efficiently manage a projected volume of over four million parcels per year. The strategic location in Kalamunda allows us better access across Perth, directly benefiting our delivery efficiency and the overall customer experience.”
The new Perth facility comes with a major green tick of approval, being built to achieve a sustainable Green Star certification with features spanning EV charging stations, solar arrays to futureproof the depot, enhanced internal ventilation and rainwater harvesting.
The new facility is located at 140 Adelaide St, High Wycombe.
