Deputy Premier of South Australia, Hon. Susan Close MP, officially launched two new warehouses at the Port Adelaide Distribution Centre (PADC).
Following a site tour and meeting with landlord Quintessential, Deputy Premier the Hon Minister Susan Close MP cut the ribbon to officially open warehouses M and O at the 319,000 square metre industrial estate.
Warehouse M was demolished in 2022 to accommodate a new 5,274-square-metre warehouse, which was completed in March 2024. The new warehouse has three state-of-the-art facilities that combine office and warehouse functionality.
Warehouse O spans 7,340 square metres and offers industry-leading warehouse and office facilities.
Quintessential’s substantial upgrades and investment have driven strong tenant demand and high retention across the 13-warehouse site, which has seen Net rents double and, in some cases, triple from $55 per square meter to $130, $140, and $153 per square meter in the recently completed warehouses.
Colliers is the ongoing property manager on behalf of Quintessential, which manages 17 tenants, including Visy Logistics, Spendless Shoes, S.E.T Logistics, and DSV Logistics. Later in the year, Funk Coffee, a local South Australian operator that also operates at Quintessential’s 431 King William Street property, will open an on site food and beverage offering.
The Deputy Premier, the Hon. Minister Susan Close, also the State Member for Port Adelaide and Minister for Environment, said, “I am delighted to inaugurate these two warehouses in the Port Adelaide electorate. Port Adelaide Distribution Centre is a shining example of what a well-considered environmental plan can achieve.”
“My thanks to Quintessential for their commitment. I welcome the new tenants to Port Adelaide Distribution Centre and declare the upgraded site officially open.”
Shane Quinn, Executive Director at Quintessential, said, “Quintessential acquired the site in 2019, and we knew we could make a significant environmental difference and create a place where people love to work.”
PADC is the workplace for over 200 people and 17 companies, and we are proud of these two additional warehouses that further enhance the Port Adelaide Distribution Centre offering.”
